Lawn aeration is an annual lawn maintenance service provided by our team of lawn care technicians at Yard Hero in Edmonton. Each year during our team’s Spring Cleanup, we offer this service to homeowners and property managers to ensure that their lawns have the ability to have a healthy start to the year!
Aerating is the process of removing two to three-inch deep core plugs, consisting of soil, thatch, grass, and roots, from the base of your lawn. Mechanically removed by a revolving machine, the thousands of core plugs are left on your lawn to naturally disintegrate and fill the aeration holes. This process is completed to establish openings for movement of air, water and needed nutrients to create a healthy lawn.
The first step in our fertilization and overseeding program, aeration allows applied natural organic fertilizers to immediately transfer their nutrients into your lawn’s root zone. Additionally, aerating prior to hybrid grass overseeding will ensure a direct seed to soil contact for improved germination.
Most commonly our team of technicians incorporates this yard maintenance service into our Spring Cleanup packages; however, it can be requested as a one-time service visit. Please feel free to reach out to our team for your complimentary consultation to see if this is the right service for your lawn!
